automotive safety igniters

Automotive Air‑Bag Igniter | Dual‑Bridge‑Wire Safety Initiator for Vehicle Restraint Systems

Product Overview

This dual bridge wire igniter serves as a critical pyrotechnic initiator for automotive air bag restraint systems. Three variants (B Type, No.2, No.7) are offered with differentiated bridge wire resistance, wire gauge and lead length options. All units pass strict vibration, electrostatic, high low temperature validation and are RoHS compliant. Customization on lead length and wire colour is supported for automotive grade application requirements

General Technical Requirements

  1. 1.

Order Quantity: Each batch of the same model shall be no less than 20,000 units.

  2. 2.

Vibration Resistance: Test on a vibration tester complying with WJ231. Continuous vibration for 10 min at 1 Hz frequency and drop height of (150±2) mm. No unintended activation, structural damage, or resistance change greater than 0.2 Ω is allowed.

  3. 3.

Electrostatic Sensitivity: Discharge across the two leads under conditions: capacitor (500±25) pF, series resistor (5000±250) Ω, charging voltage (25000±500) V. No unintended activation shall occur during test.

  4. 4.

High‑Temperature Resistance: Expose bare product at (55±2) ℃ for 4 h. No unintended activation, melting, adhesion or cracking on surface during test. Immediately apply 1.0 A DC current for 50 ms after removal from environment; the igniter shall activate reliably and burn completely.

  5. 5.

Low‑Temperature Resistance: Expose bare product at (-20±2) ℃ for 4 h. No surface cracking or fracture. Immediately apply 1.0 A DC current for 50 ms after removal from environment; the igniter shall activate reliably and burn completely.

  6. 6.

Delivery Appearance & Packaging: The surface of electric igniter shall be clean. Defects such as incomplete plastic plug injection, damage, blowholes, inclusions, exposed core wire insulation, corroded conductors and uneven end faces are not permitted. Products shall be delivered in blister packs.

  7. 7.

    Compliance: RoHS compliant.
